
The rain hadn’t stopped since morning. It drummed steadily against the windowpanes of the therapy center as Zara sat across from Dr. Myra, her palms resting on the arms of the velvet chair, her eyes flicking to the pale light filtering in through the blinds. There was something off about the air today. Too still. Too quiet.
Dr. Myra was composed as always, her long fingers intertwined on her lap, her voice warm, soothing. "You seem distracted today, Zara."
